Well I think that even though the LS3/L92 heads bolt onto and will work on a four-inch bore (L76 I'm pretty sure) the valves are a little less shrouded than on the four-plus-inch bore on the LS3/L92 blocks thereby producing a little more power. How much, I don't know.
