The concept car was wider than the production model. Also, the front of the hood had more of a tilt to the ground than the production making for a narrower grille. That tilt, though may only have been an inch or so, was enough to make the difference. So basically what you're seeing on the concept is a wider, narrower grille.
Further to that, the lower grille is a little wider on the production model. (better airflow I imagine)
I too considered getting the RS nose clip and popping it on my SS, however, no top nose vent. You know that narrow fake slit resembling KITT's infrared scanner? Yeah, without that.. something just seems missing.
So, I've decided to get the SS2, leave all alone, keep it original, and love it anyway!
And believe me I've stared at the comparisons for ever trying to figure it all out!
