I'm using a Blackberry Stereo Gateway in my 1SS that didn't come with any bluetooth options and I only use it for media (I have a BT headset for calls). Found it on Amazon for around $30 a year ago. I have a cig lighter to USB adapter in the console along with the Blackberry gateway so the whole mess is nicely hidden from view.
It works well except for one extremely annoying problem. When you turn the key to start the car, the cig outlet in the console powers up as the key passes the ACC and RUN positions, then powers off while the car is starting, and powers back up. This whole process happens in a split second but it seems this power glitch is enough to cause the Blackberry Stereo Gateway to "crash" about 50% of the time. When that happens it won't pair with your phone until you unplug the gateway from power for a few seconds and plug it back in. It has happened with two different (albeit cheap) cig lighter to USB power adapters so I'm still searching for a reliable power source.
