If I were a big Camaro fan I would buy a base V8 Camaro, pull the engine and bore it .03 over, swap in some 8.5:1 pistons, H-Beam forged rods, 72 pound injectors and put a 3.6 Kenne Bell and a BAP on it with 18-20 pounds of boost and really have a car that is reliable.

I was going to buy a V6 and build my own Shelby but when a dealer offered me a 2010 GT500 just after they took it off their showroom floor for $6k off sticker I could not refuse. There was no way I could buy a V6 and build a GT500 for the money I paid for my GT500. I am swapping out my 2.8 Kenne Bell so I will be pusing what my stock rods can handle. If I blow it I will buy a built bottom end short block and them put a lot of boost thru it.
Nice, I understand how people like myself compare these cars, each is in their own class
