My question to everyone is, how many more MPG can I expect out of adding one of these. Thats going to be my selling point to my wife. If i can let her know I will get an X increase in MPG, and this thing will pay for itself at a certain point, I may be able to swing it. Right now im getting about 22.5-23 mpg combined freeway and city driving. I already have MRT V2 exhaust. And I already drive with a pretty heavy foot half the time, so I dont have to worry too much about the whole "once you add this you wont notice an increase in MPG cuz you cant keep your foot off the gas". I also checked those charts janretty? made, but I didnt see anything about mpg improvements.

Also, what is this "scoop" im reading about. What is it, and how much does it run. Or a link would help too.
First off, thank you for choosing Cold Air Inductions Inc.!

I will try and answer a few of your questions. As for the scoop, that is not something that we here at CAI Inc make, sell, or test, however I can tell you that many of our authorized dealers offer them, and could also tell you a lot more about them. I believe they are typically used in conjuction with a washer bottle relocation kit, and together they free up some airspace inside of the CAI box, and help direct outside air into the box faster. I have heard of many of our customers adding these scoops of various brands and being very happy with the results. If you need a list of our authorized dealers to try and find out more about the scoop or purchase it along with our CAI, you can find a list of them at the folowing link on our website: http://www.coldairinductions.com/dealer-locator

As for MPG, I'll try to keep this as short as possible because it is a lot more complicated than most people realize. Their are a variety of factors that affect fuel eceonomy, including the type of fuel you use, weather, elevation, tire inflation, the speed at which you drive, the gear in which you drive, the speed in with which you accelerate, engine maintenance, excessive idling, cruise control, the grade of motor oil you use, the condition of your air filter, and what other mods you have done to the vehicle. That being said, we can't guruantee that you will see a fuel economy improvement or loss of fuel economy, because there are just way to many factors juggling in the mix, the way you dirve being the biggest. We have had Camaro cuastomers report anywhere from a loss of 2mpg to a gain of 4 mpg. Most commonly I hear about a 2 mpg increase in fuel economy from customers, but that is when driven conservatively, which from the sounds of it you don't do. In short, yes a CAI can possibly get you up to 4 mpg increase in fuel economy (thats what you can tell your wife HAHA) from what you said about how you drive, I would not expect it though!!

Now since the CAI does come with a lifetime use oiled filter you will definitely experience an over time cost savings on that end, play that card with the wifey!

Hopefully that helps!!
