There is no supercharger whine so nothing takes away from the sound of the exhaust, but at cruise you really do not hear very much at all. The shifter is very smooth, light and precise. I had to move the Corvette over a little bit to make some more space for the Z and instantly felt how clunky and archaic it felt. I have noticed on the 5th to 6th shift, I have to put a little pressure to the outside, towards the drivers side because the shifter wants to come back to the neutral position. The shift knob has a wonderful curved feel to it that fits my hand perfectly. If you are considering the suede package but are not sure, fall off of your wallet and buy it, you won't regret it at all. Both the suede wheel and the gear shifter give back a wonderful feeling of confidence. I hope this helps.

Great Thank You so much! I have not driven a manual since my 77 trans am. But when I tried the manual SS (cold weather) certain gears were difficult to engage. But I heard on the other forums that some were having similar problems with certain gears, plus it being very cold I'm sure that had something to do with it as well. I really want the manual for this car and was on the fence concerning the suede.
