WHile I have yet to see ZL1 in person, I can say that there is a space there. If you watch the aerodynamics feature video on Chevy's channel, where they did the wind tunnel testing, you can see there is flow under the middle of the spoiler. So, to at least answer your question, yes - there is a space. I believe it is the Phase IV video - check it out
