Not necessarily, saying all humans are 99% the same is the same as saying that all engines are 99% the same, and in that scope they are, all Otto cycle engines are basically 99% the same, they all have pistons, heads, intake ect ect ect, its that 1% diff that makes em unique.

In humans dont be fooled by that 99% similar stuff, thats just for the genome as a whole, ie we all have legs, arms, a head, get affected by the same diseases, our organs are the same, that 1% diff makes up hight, weight speed, strength, colour, all morphology (feature size, ie fingers, feet ect), eye and hair colour, how hairy we are, and what we inherit from out parrents



anyways, why are we talking about genetics on a car forum again.......

i think we can all agree that genetics is a bad analogy for relatedness between LS series engines......let us consult Wikipedia for info on that front
