I am no BRAKE expert... by all means it is your car do what you want. As to the above poster... you are right, specs are the only thing we could use to compare.
The Camaro is heavier, there for we can assume that the difference in brakes could be minimal due to the stopping power needed for each car, no one will ever know until they try it... and abuse it.
