There are also dealers that don't do Dealer Markup and they advertise that. It's possible they could get more volume this way to make up for the ones who charge more. I prefer to take my repeat business back to these guys during times of high supply and low demand... |
I guess I should clarify myself......you guys are right. If people are willing to pay that much, then thats their problem and the dealers have the right to ask whatever they want. The dealership I have always gone to has had markups but never once have I even paid MSRP. But I don't like the stories of serious buyers being turned away for greed. I know of one dealer here in VA that had markups on their collection of 4 brand new Cobras in 2004, and refused to go anywhere below 5K over.......those cars sat while buyers were turned away. In the end, the dealers suffered as the cars stayed on their lots for months.
