There are many factors. Age and experience are some of them. It varies by state and just because the same driver pays x in one state does not mean it will be that in another state. The best advice given so far was to get several quotes. Also, be sure you are giving them the correct usage of the vehicle (and annual miles). Be sure to check your liability levels and your deductibles. High liability limits and low deductibles is more expensive. You have to decide on what you need. If you can't pay a 1k deductible then don't set it there, but then you have to pay the higher rates for lower deductibles. Car insurance is about transfer of risk. You pay the insurance company to take on more risk.
