It didn't on mine. I bought my LSXr used and when I got it, it was supposed to have (according to the directions) a large washer (spacer) to ever so slightly push the tensioner pulley out just enough...
I called Comp and they gave me the dimensions and I found one that worked. There isn't much space between the pulley (idler) and the TB, but there is space, probably the thickness of a quarter or so. I never measured it.
I haven't started the car yet so it might jump off but by eyeballing it, it appears to line up nicely enough. I cannot remember the thickness of the washer but it wasn't anything extreme, basically a normal thickness washer. The diameter of it was what was needed to go behind the idler pulley and the center hole big enough for the stock bolt to go through.
Before I discovered I could use the stock idler, I bought the necessary belt to use the Katech idler. I couldn't remember which was which so I tried for several minutes to get the "shorter" belt on before I remembered it might be the short belt. I then grabbed the stock belt and it went right on.
