Anyways, back on topic, from what i thought, all the LS series blocks share the same basic design, but they use different castings, like the ls7 and ls9 have more internal bracing and strengthening then the others, and since you just cant add metal to brace up a cast block, the casting must be different from the get go. Bust as for the basic dimensions and specs, tolerances and such i think they are all quite similar, which is why there is such a great compatibility in parts between the engines.
