Arizona All Gens Tortilla Flat/Apache Trail Run

Tortilla Flat is the last remaining stage coach along the Old Apache Trail (State Route 88). The town got started as a stop on the way up to the Roosevelt Dam construction site in 1904. At its peak Tortilla Flat had 125 people living in it, today its only 6 people and smallest official community in Arizona. To get to Tortilla Flat you have to take State Route 88 from Apache Junction about 20 miles north east. This is one of the oldest highways if not the oldest in Arizona. The road is only slightly wider than Old US66 past Oatman and has almost no guard rails on the edges of the steep drop offs. Before going into Tortilla Flat you pass Canyon Lake, if you keeping going you'll end up on the dirt section of Apache Trail and eventually Roosevelt Dam. The All Gens Camaro club took 7 cars out to this Flat this morning. Rare instance where I actually got to push my Camaro to its absolute limit on the road.
