The privacy part is going to be tough. What I will tell you is first and foremost to go with a CERAMIC tint (such as HuperOptik) because you will realize near 70% heat rejection without having to go dark (double that of your darkest metallic tints). Of course, you'll get near 99% UV rejection too.
If privacy is what you're after, I'd go with the legal maximum on all the windows but leave the windshield alone. The reduced light transmission in the rest of the car will aide in privacy in the windshield. If heat rejection is your ticket, then I would tint the windshield with an 80% or higher tint so it will look clear.
