Again, no offense and I am not disputing the validity of gurus and judges. I would really like to know if they base their judgements on knowledge or is there any reality involved. The reason I make this statement is I would like to know if any of them actually
ORDERED a 1st gen big block themselves? I did, 41 years ago in '68. After about 6 weeks it arrived from GM at the dealership and the back was satin black. Maybe there is just a discrepency in using the term "satin". You stated that "perhaps not full gloss but not flat black". You are absolutely correct. Back in the day, the term for that sheen of paint was referred to as "satin".
