I am going to go ahead and guess that you have never driver a fast car. If you think 20mm on tread width is going to completely transofrm the same tire, you are incredibly naive.
I am guessing Ford did not accept the challenge becasue they did not have an apples to apples comparison of their own (closd track). Any smart attorney knows that you shouldn't ask a question unless you alrady know what the answer will be.
Also, it seems like a collosal waiste of money as people will buy the car they are loyal to regardless of the outcome. How many bandwagoners, from either camp, are going to honestly buy the other car based on a head to head ring time? My guess woiuld be a VERY small percentage, and of those hard core track guys, I am sure they KNOW they would be better off in something like a Boss 302S or used porsche CUP car, ie a dedicated road race car.
As was mantioned by another poster, either one of these cars will put a big smile on your face and will put a hurting on most things they come across on the street (especially when modded). Randomly seeing the other car in traffic will be a rare occurance, so you won't have to worry too much about who will have the bigger smile when it does happen.
