But once you start modding and running on a well prepped track, the advantage starts to swings back in favor of RWD.
RWD is a much better setup for high horse powered applications due to weight transfer going to the rear tires on launch. You get those rear tires to stick, and your going to fly off the line.

For really heavy cars AWD helps a little more.
