It's kind of funny. SLP chose to name their camaros ZL1's because there hasn't been a ZL1 Camaro (from The factory) since 1969. Everyone was expecting the ZL1 to be the Z28. So SLP was hedging their bets by calling their camaros ZL1's thinking that Chevy would name their supercharged Camaro Z28. That obviously backfired though.
