If you're gonna bitch at me and support the ZL1 bandwagon, fine, your opinion counts just as much as mine so feel free to bite off a nice chunk of that $58,000 marketing ploy. Not my cup of tea and I stated why. In case you missed it, I don't agree with Chevy resurrecting a super rare and exclusive nameplate and mass-producing it.
The reason my car is sitting pretty in the garage until May is not because I sit in my lawn chair admiring it, but because I've been in Afghanistan for the last 6 months, so feel free to KISS my #$%! Matter of fact, my wife drove my car today and we live on a dirt road, so I'm sure it's all nice and dusty and dirty...just for you. Want me to have her send you a pic?
Are we having fun yet? lol

I was figuring that the two or so ZL1 owners would kick in and talk smack, but not yet.
Not sure I could ever bring myself to doing the trailer-hitch thing though....In that respect, I am too much of a purist. I have a truck for that. Pretty sure we had this discussion many months ago when you first posted that. Insert dead horse comment here. And yes, on occasion I take my car to get groceries, but the Camaro trunk isn't exactly good for that; plus the nitrous bottles take up too much room. I'm way too retentive to leave my car in a parking lot full of mini-vans and soccer moms, so in that respect I definitely baby it. I park way the F out there if I have to do that. Mine is not an everyday car.
I do enjoy going to a car show once in a while, but it's more about showing off the work and making a car unique than winning for me. I see plenty of people on the ABM thread with a bag of trophies with their bone stock Camaros and it's just a big WTF? You went to the dealer, got a loan, drove it home and now you get a trophy at a show? Someone please explain that to me. Which brings me back to the ZL-not-1's. When Camaro Fest rolls around, I bet not a single owner of these cars will have made any mods to them, with the exception of Lingenfelter, and they don't count. That's their job. There will be 50 of them in a row, all bone stock. Car guys mess with their cars. Period. We'll see. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing not. I'd stand and admire a V6 Camaro with a home-made Twin Turbo system before a bone stock anything any day...but that's just me being me.
Off to sleep. Maybe we can vent again tomorrow.

Hey AquaRSSS, you found a future owner that wants to toss some posts back and forth with ya!
Just wanted to figure out why you hate the car so much? I mean, I get you are pissed that they used the ZL1 name on this car, is that the only reason you hate it? I too agree that as far as history related naming goes that bringing back the Z/28 badge would have been more fitting for this model (especially considering how they have used it in the past for models not as fitting as this one)
We finally get something from the factory that is pretty much already modded, track ready, with standard factory warranty. What's not to like? Is it just a price issue? Do you honestly think that it's a ripoff for what you get? Or do you just have to mod it yourself with aftermarket parts to be a 'car guy'?
Do you think the GT500 is a horrible car too since it'll be track ready also (with like $6500 more for the performance/track options)?
Are we just going to compare it to a Vette? Which IMO is just too different to really compare the Camaro too. Yeah I can get a used Z06 for the same price, can I take my wife and son around in it at the same time? No. I felt that at this point in my life, this is the perfect car for me, I can take the wife and kid to the car meet-ups, different shows, the track, whatever we get time for
