Yeah, but they generally shop by segment and price range. I know that all three of the cars are in my price range and I cross-shopped them all because they're in the segment I'm looking at. Price definitely is a factor but I think people generally are looking at a price range within a segment.
I don't know about a good deal cheaper, the GT I just "configured" came in at $38,449 CAD without me adding any options to the car. The 1SS came in at $38,395 CAD without any additional options. The GT didn't have the track package so it wouldn't really be a fair comparison BUT the GT did have leather seats, the 1SS not so much. The 1SS had bigger tires and a 6 speed, unfortunately the Mustang only has a 5 speed (not that it really needs a 6 speed, but dammit do I want one).
I'm not sure how it changes when they're both in US funds, but this is how it is for us Canadians.
