Um...no.

Spoken like a typical V8 guy.

Question: Where is the $40k spent on that car? I can tell you where its NOT spent bc *gasp* we have the same car spare a couple things.

1. It's not spent on all the hard plastic inside the car, that we know.

2. The electronic components aren't expensive. No nav and before you start typing away yes, I know...next year its an option. But I wonder how much it will add?

3. A Corvette is less than $10k away in price, really more like $6k if you can negotiate at all. And it out handles, outperforms, and flat out outdoes the SS in every way.

4. My last car was a 650 HP Kenne Bell 03 Cobra vert. I paid $20k for it with 40k on the clock. Bone stock it would waste the new SS. By the time I was finished
modding it, it was a ZL1 killer. And my TOTAL investment was way less than $40k. Of course, you could buy a used GT500...as I earlier said...for about..oh...$34k with almost no miles and beat the crud out of the SS bone stock.

5. At $40k, your options for MUCH nicer cars include C5 Z06 (looks way better than the Camaro and weighs nothing), used C6 (again....its a Vette), heck..throw in used GTS Vipers for that amount of cash.

As i originally said, I'm sorry but the SS is only inflated in price for a couple reasons:

1. It was in a movie

2. Chevy knows that 4th gen V8 guys want V8 power...and that most 4th gen Z28s and SS models would be high mileage by the release of the new Camaro. Want to keep the power? Well that's going to cost you.

3. The loyal Camaro following in general. I applaud ANY group of enthusiasts that waited as long as the Camaro crowd for a new model. But consider this: an old 2002 SS stickered around $32k...the price of a 2LT RS now. You think prices are in line, even adjusted for inflation? I think not...and I felt it when I bought my V6. Can't imagine the premium on an SS.

To sum up, I don't want an SS. I know you guys have a hard time believing that bc for some reason, anytime theres a V8 and V6 version of a car, the V8 owners think "Man, everyone wants what I've got!" When in reality, most of us are wondering why not a Vette? Must be the backseats.....
