It just calls for removing the rear bearing and hub, then putting the washer on. So, I guess the washer goes on the hub end.

Doing some more reading, make sure all the bolts on the half shaft are tight. Remember Kyle's were loose. Obviously more than yours since he was slinging grease everywhere.
