I belong to several car clubs. It seems that wives fall into one of 2 categories. The ones that tolerate or even support their husband's hobby, and those that hate it and tell them to get rid of them, while they insist on expanding their collection of 800 shoes or unicorn figurines.
I really don't understand a woman that meets a guy that has a car collection and then marries him and tells him to get rid of them. Obviously this is something he is passionate about and is important to him. Making him get rid of the cars will only make him resent her, and make for a miserable marriage. If they don't like cars, then don't marry someone that is a big car enthusiast.
I had been dating a girl for a while before she came to my house for the first time. I love antique furniture and collectibles, and my house had a good selection of very rare and unique items that I had hunted out over the years. She came in and proceeded to point to assorted rare items, and said "I don't like this, that has to go, this has to go, etc..."
I said actually I only need to get rid of one thing, and then everything else will be fine. "Oh, what is that?" she asked.
"You" I said.
Now my collection is twice the size, and I never regretting dumping her. I would have been miserable if we stayed together.
