A lot of options historically have been added by the dealer, especially when it comes to bolt ons and even some more complex options. GM does this to keep these ultra custom cars from holdin up the lines and it keeps the production cost. In turn GM gives the dealer a bigger peice of the pie on dealer installed options, dealers actually make some good money off of these.
