I'm also having a difficult time getting used to this clutch! I just traded in my 2008 Mustang GT for a 2010 Camaro SS, but this clutch is killing me!

Its like the clutch pedal has 7 inches of overall travel but is fully engaged in only 1 inch of it, and just as others have said, that 1 inch of engagement happens right when the spring is pushing hardest against your foot.

I'm finding it very difficult to make a smooth start and even shift smoothly between gears sometimes. Its especially bad when you're on a hill or caught of guard when the light changes and you have to react quickly.

The pedal moves exactly like a compound bow... harder to push for the first half of the travel, then suddenly easy as can be (though none of the travel is actually hard... just relatively speaking). But the worst part is, that 1 inch of engagement travel occurs EXACTLY at the transition point.

If you want to get a good sense of it, go to any Walmart or sporting goods place and ask to see a compound bow. Then see if you can smoothly move it back and forth throughout its draw... see that sudden snap in the middle? That's exactly what its like.

I see some mentioning the spring removal and I'm sorely tempted to try this. Others have said its the return spring (which logically makes sense to me) but if that's true and the spring were removed, what would make the pedal travel back upward? Is it just counter pressure in the hydraulic system at that point or are you relying on the pressure plate or...?

Maybe someone can make an aftermarket piece to widen the range of engagement and remove that especially springy spot in the center? (please please please)...
