regardless of what everyone has seen - the fuel filler door location has *not* been established by anyone as being on the side - its just what we have seen from the "uncovered" photos and what most people have decided they will "accept".

I for one think that Scott still has something up his sleeve in terms of that and what we will see will make us very happy. I asked scott personally about this fact and he could NOT tell me anything (of course) but mentioned that "remember its a global platform". And my wonderful design/engineering (or lack thereof) common sense tells me that the most acceptable "global" location might be something similar to the 1969 Camaro's fuel filler door location...

We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly I have been "keeping the faith" since before the pics leaked out (before the concept was unveiled) and will continue to do so. Scott / GM haven't let me down on this concept yet and I'm not expecting them to because I think this time they did it right. They seem to be listening to the community A LOT MORE than they did in the past - and I think it's because we've shown that we are a huge driving force.

That being said - I still think that talking about the headlights or the fuel filler door might be a moot point because heres something to tihnk about:

GM will build the test mules using as LITTLE production parts as possible. Yes they will build the body panels and the like, but you have to remember that most "prototypes" are cobbled together from pieces laying around the warehouses that resemble parts that may or may not be on the final model.

Therefore the "white" camaro that we've all seen in pics could just be a Malibu with camaro body panels tossed on it to make us happy and make us believe that Bob Lutz did indeed "take the camo" off to make us enthusiasts happy. The white Camaro's that came into LA (LAX pics) look a lot different (taller) than the picture of the camaro sitting next to the truck in sweden - just think about that. And the pic from detriot looks a lot "wider" in the haunches than the one from sweden as well.

Think about this carefully before we continue barking about the headlight look or the fuel filler door location. Most of the time the car manufacturers camoflauge their test mules because they arent testing aerodynamics (this is done in a wind tunnel) - but rather they are used to see how the motor and transmission combinations work and how the car functions roughly overall (not the final thing tho).

anyway..just some thoughts...
