Fact of the matter is both cars came out within 2 months of each other, a member here already has his 2013 GT500. They had about the same amount of development time, and the same amount of time to out do each other. Putting weight on the model year is idiotic. GM didn't aim at the 2012 GT500, they aimed passed it and decided to focus on something other than peak HP.

both companies made cars that are fantastic, both companies came out with cars that most of there owners can't control. a few tenths here and there are irrelevant.
