Anyone????? No it's a bunch of people going "if that happened to me I would..........."
This thread is based on pictures of cars, not on an owner returning the car or rejecting the car.
I spent a good 20 minutes going over an IOM car yesterday. With the right angle of the sun, the colors can APPEAR to be mismatched. But up close, panel to panel they are identical or as identical as you would hope. I saw nearly perfect matches between the fascia, hood and fender.
People have tried to explain and even show you that it is the lighting. It is very apparent on the metalic colors and maybe even more on the IOM and RJT.
The Camaro has a very unique front fascia. What you are seeing is the reflection differences off of the fascia relative to the body panels. In certain lighting they reflect the light differently.
I can assure you that if you look in some lighting conditions on the metalics the color changes from one end of the panel to another. You just don't see it because it isn't across a panel break.
Go to the photos linked in my sig. Mostly VR, RY and Black. All solid colors. No mismatch. So if this were a BIG problem, wouldn't the mismatch be on all colors? It's the same supplier, same Oshawa paint shop. Look at the photos of Cheryl’s IOM car. On an over cast day the car looks perfect.
If you do get a mismatch, I have no doubt that GM will take care of you.
I really thought that once you guys were getting cars that this site would turn so positive. Instead it has turned decidedly negative.
Every little detail is now being second guessed with "am I the only one who noticed......." or "GM really failed on............"
I would almost think that you guys didn't really understand how good a car the Camaro is. You have world class engines, transmissions, rear suspension. Wonderful styling, a roomy interior (not counting the back seat). Great fuel economy, outstanding performance, with great ride and handling.
Yet we keep getting threads on mirrors, back up lamps, push button start and paint mismatches. All real or imagined concerns. Yes there are many features the car could have or might have had. The car is what it is because of thousands of decisions over the past few years of development.
Maybe it's me, I haven't done a lot of posting until Number 3 asked me to Join Camaro5 and tell his story. Maybe this is just how it goes.
This is a great car. And as I've said many, many times, it isn't a perfect car.
And realistically, some cars will have problems. On average, according to JD Power and Associates, a new car will have approximately 1 problem. The cars better than the industry average will have about .8 problems per car while the very worst may approach 2 problems on average. But it seems now that every time one of you has an issue 50 other people jump on here claiming fail.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you can’t talk about the issues. What I find troublesome is those of you that jump on, more like pile on and you don’t even have cars.
Sorry, had to go off.
