Anyone????? No it's a bunch of people going "if that happened to me I would..........."

This thread is based on pictures of cars, not on an owner returning the car or rejecting the car.

I spent a good 20 minutes going over an IOM car yesterday. With the right angle of the sun, the colors can APPEAR to be mismatched. But up close, panel to panel they are identical or as identical as you would hope. I saw nearly perfect matches between the fascia, hood and fender.

People have tried to explain and even show you that it is the lighting. It is very apparent on the metalic colors and maybe even more on the IOM and RJT.

The Camaro has a very unique front fascia. What you are seeing is the reflection differences off of the fascia relative to the body panels. In certain lighting they reflect the light differently.

I can assure you that if you look in some lighting conditions on the metalics the color changes from one end of the panel to another. You just don't see it because it isn't across a panel break.

Go to the photos linked in my sig. Mostly VR, RY and Black. All solid colors. No mismatch. So if this were a BIG problem, wouldn't the mismatch be on all colors? It's the same supplier, same Oshawa paint shop. Look at the photos of Cheryl’s IOM car. On an over cast day the car looks perfect.

If you do get a mismatch, I have no doubt that GM will take care of you.

I really thought that once you guys were getting cars that this site would turn so positive. Instead it has turned decidedly negative.

Every little detail is now being second guessed with "am I the only one who noticed......." or "GM really failed on............"

I would almost think that you guys didn't really understand how good a car the Camaro is. You have world class engines, transmissions, rear suspension. Wonderful styling, a roomy interior (not counting the back seat). Great fuel economy, outstanding performance, with great ride and handling.

Yet we keep getting threads on mirrors, back up lamps, push button start and paint mismatches. All real or imagined concerns. Yes there are many features the car could have or might have had. The car is what it is because of thousands of decisions over the past few years of development.

Maybe it's me, I haven't done a lot of posting until Number 3 asked me to Join Camaro5 and tell his story. Maybe this is just how it goes.

This is a great car. And as I've said many, many times, it isn't a perfect car.

And realistically, some cars will have problems. On average, according to JD Power and Associates, a new car will have approximately 1 problem. The cars better than the industry average will have about .8 problems per car while the very worst may approach 2 problems on average. But it seems now that every time one of you has an issue 50 other people jump on here claiming fail.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you can’t talk about the issues. What I find troublesome is those of you that jump on, more like pile on and you don’t even have cars.

Sorry, had to go off.
How has this become a bash GM thread? If you were back in school and the teacher gives constructive criticism is that bashing? Most if not all people here that bring out the imperfections in the car are not doing so because their complaining it's because we want GM to do better. This has been an unprecedented opportunity to a car manufacturer. I have never seen heard or been part of such a big online car community, instant feedback to GM that's priceless. Sure you'll have the few guys here that will never buy and have no intention of buying. Ignore those and listen to your loyal customers. Number 3 or your spouse how many GM cars have you actually bought not leased or tested? To actually have a vested interest on a long term investment? At 35 Y/O I have bought five of them and all above invoice with no employee pricing discount, so if that gives me a right to be vested in GM's interest so be it. No one here questions the passion of GM employees or family. In fact I consider myself GM family even without having anyone employed there. I myself have met Fbodfather and the passion in that man for this business and this car is admirable and unmistacable. We all need to take the blinders off and see whats going on people have been leaving the domestics behind for a long time now, we need to turn that around. GM has actually been doing a good job of improving but they can strive for better. We want GM to be the BEST, what do you do with a friend that has alcohol or drug problem and gone through all the normal criticism and advice but he still goes back to his problem? You start showing him tough love for his sake because you love them and care what happens to them. So if that's GM bashing so be it. Anyhow after waiting years for this car who in the right mind would walk away from it if the bumper paint is off? You would want GM to fix it. On that note every body panel I have had repainted by dealership body-shops the cars after a few years starts flaking off clear coat or starts fading. Probably because they did not prep the material right like sanding down the clear coat so the new paint would adhere properly. So why would I want my almost 40 thousand dollar car going to these dealer body-shops to be fixed by them and sitting there for days. Why is it a sin to want my car to come out of the factory near perfect? If this was a top of the line HD TV you just bought and part of the picture was faded would you keep it, let them try to fix or would you return it and get one that's right? In this case you can't really pick out another one from the lot just yet, and there's no guarantee it will be fixed right. Most of us understand these issues are first run car issues but if we can guide anybody at GM to look at these issues while the car is being built GM can make the best product out there. So getting past any biased personal opinions this thread is actually doing GM some good.

So other than politics and religion we need to stop censoring our users by closing down threads.
