Starting from Orange, lower the saturation to 0. That'll give you a grayscale. Now, colorize, but again, bring the saturation down to ~10 or something, and pull the hue slider over towards the yellow. That'll give you more of a pewter color

The other thing I did wrong was I tried to short cut and start with the white and orange I did for Mindz, instead of going from scratch using the original file you sent.
Now I know why you like an image to work off of. Makes it easier than trying to guess.

Saves a ton of time.
