I was advised by my dealer that there are no more TPWs being issued by GM. Reason is that too many folks are confusing TPW with near-term delivery and GM is getting tired of the calls. My dealer is straight-up honest, and I believe that's what he has been told by GM and is accurately relaying it to me. He said it is straight from 3000 to 3800 now with no dealer updates in between.
My concern is that GM is actually prepping for bankruptcy, and this is the reason why TPWs aren't being issued. If the bankruptcy occurs, the factory could be shut down (al la Chrysler) and sit idle. It's anybody's guess on a car that is selling very well if the government would do that or not - or whether it would be forced to do that by taking into account the entire corporation and not just a single model line.
Anyway, I want to ask if people on the forum are hearing the same thing. My 2SS/RS was ordered on 4/1 and has been at 3000 for a few weeks (I know - short time compared to most
). Anyone else hearing "no more TPWs"? :upset:
