Yet again (why does this always strike people as odd on the test mules?), it's a common addition in the R&D flogging of ANY prototype so they can hitch up a variety of weights and really put some strain on the vehicles. Doesn't mean it's going to be an OEM option, but is done on anything from a Neon to a Tahoe in testing.
