Orange peel is when the paint on your car, in a sense, looks like an "orange peel". It has the rough, slightly dimply texture like an orange has. It can be caused by an improper painting technique. Usually it can be fixed with buffing or ultra-fine sandpaper, but you can completely prevent it by changing the paint or your painting technique.
My car is an 01, and my paint doesn't have any "orange peel" in it.
