I've been in both shoes so I understand both sides. I started out as the guy who kept the nice stuff home and drove a beater to work worried about the nice vehicle racking miles, getting dirty, iffy parking, wanting to keep it as pristine as it is now a 100 years from now, etc.etc. But then I had a total 180 degree change in heart. It came down to I was just miserable driving a beater that I hated driving everyday and not driving the nice mint one that I loved to drive, had pride for, was enthusiastic about, that got attention, was the current generation in style, etc...
Some people hate their commute to work, and mine is 29mi/45 minutes one way. But with a nice vehicle that I'm enthusiastic about driving I actually look forward to my drive to and from work. That 45 minutes feels like 15 minutes. I look forward to my commute. I'm glad it's 45 minutes one way because I get to enjoy a new Camaro 90 minutes a day! I get to enjoy the comments on the car on a daily basis while the car is still in style! Once these cars go out of style, you'll wish you had lived it up while they where still the hot thing!
Now I'm the 100% opposite of how I used to be. Now when I buy a new vehicle the old one is the one that gets to take a brake and the new one is the new daily driver. I'm paying good money for this car, I love driving it, why not make every day a better day by driving it? I'm not the type of person to just up and go on a joy ride wasting gas for no apparent reason. If I'm driving somewhere, it's for a reason, to go to work, grab groceries, etc.. and I don't want to just drive a nice new hot Camaro every now and then on a pointless Sunday cruise. I get to take it on a nice long Sunday drive and enjoy it on a daily basis!!! Can't get no better than that!!!
But I really can't knock the other camp, I've been there so I understand it's a nice car that they don't want wear and tear on and want it showroom pristine every time they get in it. I was 100% like that with my first Lightning. It got totaled with only 11,000 miles on it. Yay for saving it, lol.

So glad I wasn't like that with my second Lightning because now it doesn't get the attention that it used to get and I'm also super bored with it after owning it for six years now. So glad I didn't save it for now and used it back when I was an actual fanatic about it and the vehicle was an attention getter! I got to live up the Lightning in it's heyday! If I would of saved it for now, what would of been the point? I don't care about that vehicle now, just like I wont care about this Camaro six years from now when the next new hottest one will be in my driveway and be enjoyed on a daily basis!
Do you guys really think that six years from now you're still going to be as enthusiastic over this generation of Camaro as you are now? A new Gen, new style, higher tech, more power, etc. will be out and you'll either be trading in or selling to the guys who couldn't afford a new one now and you'll probably have wished you had lived it up more while it was still in it's heyday! Take it from somebody who's been there, done that, don't save it!! Use it for what it's worth
NOW!!
Ok well, save it if it makes you happy! It's your car, do whatever with it that makes you happy, lol...
