Ok, that's just funky. Some people baffle me.
But anyway if GM had the only dealers doing this then I could see your investment point. But they ALL do it when they have a commodity. And they are ALL hurting right now. GM spread it'sself too thin. imo So did Chrysler. And their the ones hurting most. You are assuming that the Camaro will sell volume. I beleive they will but it's not a gaurantee. And remember, alot of dealers got 'The letter', what incentive do they have to sell at or under MSRP? If i'm not mistaken they don't shut the doors immediately.
I choose to run my own business by undercutting the other guy and it works very well for me. I don't have the overhead that the giant national guys do which helps me stay more flexible. If I were to get big and they get small it would be the 180 opposite. It allways balances it'self out. Sometimes it's very painful, especially when your talking big business but the market will fix it'self.
