Over the years on many cars I had minor paint damage repaired by insurance. Quality insurance companies now warrent paint for life if you have paint repairs done at one of their 'suggested' shops. I have had the same insurance company for decades but this lifetime warrenty was not always offered.
Recently I had a minor rear bumper paint chip fixed when a car at low speed slide on ice and bumped me. $650 to remove bumper and repaint. My State Farm warrented repairs for as long as I own the Camaro, body shop approved by State Farm also warrents repairs for life. Your paint warrenty should be your deciding factor.
Back in 1998 I had a 1996 Sebring LXI coupe. Got bumped on the rear. Bumper repainted but warrenty was only for 36 months. No joke, on month 37 rear bumper paint started to flake. Previously when the Sebring was only 3 months old, hit some kind of chemical on the road that damaged paint, insurance covered it less deductable, 3 years later paint started to flake. Bottom line years later after repair warrenties expired, cost me $1,200 out of pocket to repaint flaking paint panels.
My suggestion to you is get both a lifetime warrenty from your insurance company and a lifetime warrenty from the body shop that repairs your Camaro. I have had many cars over 45 years repainted due to minor damage. Get a lifetime warrenty on any paint repairs to your Camaro and don't settle for anything less than a lifetime warrenty.

My worry would not be the repair, but the repair holding up better than the factory paint. Most if not all will not step foot into that territory because they know their side is done well but the old paint won't hold up compared to it. All they will cover is what they touched, the rest could inevitably fade and they wouldn't repaint it for you to match. I'm hoping for the best for you Angie, and I actually believe your paint is new enough where if you do see any difference ever, it won't be for several years, and you will likely want your car repainted by then anyways if it were all factory paint.
