The ZL1 platform is engineered to handle much more HP. One can wait for a GM factory upgrade, or do it onself if drag times are that important to the owner. It's pound foolish for the GT 500 to try to upgrade the car for road course stability and manuverability to beat the ZL1 on a road race. Maybe in their next generation they will develop comparable technology. HP can only overcome so much....there is a diminshing return as Pete has said, and it can be counter productive if the car is not engineered sufficiently to handle it. I'm so sad I have a ZL1.... everytime I park it,...it begs me to go right back out and drive it some more. It's
pure adrenaline on four wheels.
