Had a local guy challenge me to a race in my old 5.0 right after I had the Intake and manifold installed and dyno tuned. He had a brand new Maserati. He made a comment about wanting to race me one day and I just kinda looked at him like he was dumb, then went back to talking to the friends I had been talking to when he interrupted. I guess this annoyed him cause he said something about racing again, this time a little louder. Well now my group of friends hear what he said and we all just kinda look at him like he's retarded. I spoke up and said "so what makes you think your car is faster than mine?". He says "it's a Maserati. It's got like 450ish horsepower". I just kinda laughed and said "yeah and it weighs about 4400 pounds too. Come back when you get something you can drag race with and we'll talk business". This frustrated him cause I think he was trying to look cool to me and my friends and make his purchase of the car seem a valid decision. He stormed out of the building and got in his car. As he pulled out of the parking lot, he punched it and the back end kicked out , turning him sideways in front of the traffic he had pulled out in front of. I could see him frantically trying to turn the car back straight as he stood on the brakes and tried not to get hit by traffic. The car must have stalled cause he restarted it and took off again, straightening the car up and smashing the gas as he took off, this time leaving a weak little line about a foot long on the pavement. I heard this more than saw it because by the time he got sideways, I was rolling on the floor laughing so hard I was crying. Damn that was funny to me. To this day, when I pass him, I wave at him and laugh to myself. Idiot lol.

Well that's my Maserati story.... And yes, I'm pretty sure my 5.0 would have beaten him at the dragstrip.
