sir5, I have read this thread a couple times and i see some recommendations with warrant and some that are just ludicrous.

Just a suggestion that worked well for me one time. It was for a transmision in another brand of automobile. The dealer i took it to 3 timeskept telling me they didn't have time to look at it and it was still on warranty. After the third time i decided to go straight to the Service Manager's office and wait for him. When he got there he ask what he could do for me. I said i am in the process of writing a letter to the company's cooporate level and i just wanted to find out how he wanted his name mentioned in that letter. He ask me what i meant and i explained how his service writer had blown me off three times. He immediatly called his transmission specialist in and told him to go with me right then and do a drivability, that's what they call the test drive to see if they can tell any problems while driving. He instantly said it needed rebuilt and i went up the road to another dealer and scheduled the work. Any good mechanic can drive or even ride with you and tell by the sounds if there is a bad gear, bearing, misplaced shim even if he's really good. You might try this approach and see what happens. Regardless, based on what you have said, i would not drive too much and get something done soon before it gets too bad. Then they can ask why you kept driving it. You need to go in and be your forceful best and make them do something. If they don't want to do anything, do as another member said, get something in writing so you can show later that you tried to get it checked out. CYA
