The current and soon-to-be generations of V8 power may end (or severly wane) in about seven years as a result of the CAFE standards. However, soon after this decline, a company (like Coskata) will finally figure out a breakthough that will enable relatively cheap, renewable, eco-friendly fuel. This will in turn signal a resurgence in the musclecar wars, and the sixth gen Camaro will still be the baddest car on the block.
This may all be wishful thinking because I really want an internal combusion engine (the quiet nature of electric cars disturbs my soul), I would love a renewable domestic energy course to lessen our dependency on foreign oil, and, although I drive (and plan on buying again) a V8 RWD car, I would love a cleaner burning solution.

You're late on your news man not to mention slightly off; Coskata has already found a way to mass produce C85 (or celluslosic ethanol) and just last week a University in Massachusetts discovered a bacteria that will enable 75 billion gallons of cellulosic ethanol to be produced a year.
