Hello everyone. I stumbled upon this site about 2 weeks ago when I was learning about the Camaro. I've been browsing through various posts and figured I might as well join.

About me: My name is Jason and I'm a 34 year old male, married with 2 boys, living about 20-30 minutes west of downtown Chicago.

Current vehicle: Carbon Black 2007 GMC Acadia SLE AWD with 45K miles.

Previous vehicles: (most current to oldest) 2002 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ, 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, 1992 Eagle Talon NT, 1991 Nissan Stanza GLE. Yeah I know, lots of Imports...

Interested in: Camaro 1LT coupe.

Why am I here: I'm starting on my quest to purchase a new vehicle in the next 9-12 months and the Camaro is on my short list. I'm looking to stay with GM (employee discount through a family member), and I want to get back into a car. I also tend to get bored with cars quickly so I like to modify and make it more personal to me(basic performance bolt-ons and appearance items), so I need a car that has stronger aftermarket presence.

So far what I've read has me very excited about a Camaro. But since it will be what I have to live with for the next 5-7 years, I want to make sure I'm not being impulsive and short-sighted by the "coolness" of having a Camaro with so much aftermarket options.

I'm hoping to learn about known mechanical issues, quality of build, and overall impressions of the vehicle. I have yet to test drive one, and purposely holding off until it is closer to when I can purchase. So much of this is a pipe dream this far out anyway, no need to waste the saleperson's time.

One of my biggest concerns out of the gate is the visibility. Having sat in one at a dealership as well as the Chicago Auto Show, I'm not sure how long (if ever) it will take until I get used to the lack of outward visibility.

I've been a member of multiple forums in the past, and currently a member of the GMC Acadia forum, so I'm comfortable with the rules, ettiquete and search functions. Trust me, I'll do my best to not start threads without first attempting to use the search feature!

That's enough about me. Thanks for reading, I look forward to conversing with many of you in the future.
