No way would cops arrest someone for trashing their own car.
Doesn't mean the person won't get hooked up for a psychiatric evaluation.
There are instances of people being arrested for destruction of their own personal property during the course of an argument. And when it causes a disturbance. Or in some cases when there is a lienholder on the item. Since you don't actually own it yet your destroying the banks property. Many mortgage docs have clauses such as these in them.
