The gearing could be improved. What really limited GM is the influence of green legislation. It's so easy for Americans to blame something that they don't have to change for pollution, even when the majority of Americans generally believe that pollution is a bad thing. Lifestyle change is hard, and they compensate by demanding cars with more miles per gallon, but no one taxes them for leaving on that inefficient lightbulb when they leave the house. If people realized that cars produce significantly less smog than houses and industrial production, then they might not be so hard on the automotive industry.

In other words, GM did build a superior muscle car despite these limitations. I'll stand by that position. When I get mine, I will happily accept challenges at the track.
