Seemed excessive to me but I guess pulling a .96 60ft it all has to be done at every level!
For the NHRA classes that the COPO will run in, rules require a full interior, even the headliner. Just like the Mustang Cobra Jet and Challenger drag pack. It is competitive in terms of weight.
