After 40 years of owning only manual tranny cars, rarely driving automatics, and with a couple of motorcycles and some 10/12/18 speed bicycles thrown in for good measure, to drive anything with an automatic transmission feels downright strange. Like there's a few parts missing and the shift timing never quite gets in step with what I'm expecting.
After her 40 years of driving manual transmission cars almost exclusively, my wife still doesn't want an automatic either. Three pedals and a lever that you have to stir from time to time is just the way some cars work.
