funny story about something like that. i was cruisin down the highway the other day and i end up passing an 06 GT. full body kit, and i can tell he's got an aftermarket exhaust from the tips on his car, which probably means hes got at least a CAI. hes got fulll gfx on the car, overall it looks pretty nice so as i pass him and get a good look at the car, i decide...hey, lets see if he wants to play. so i slow down a lil and get beside him and nod my finger forwards to indicate i want to run him. he downshifts as do i and we slow down to about 40 mph, he honks, 1, 2, 3... i stomp him out the hole and put about 10 cars on him.
im thinkin...damn, he must have missed a shift or something. so i slow down again and pull beside him. i figure ill start it off, i glance over as i honk the first time and he's shaking his head???
then i heard it... his exhaust. freakin riced out fart can sound. im thinkin wtf?
so we take the next exit and come to a stop light. i yell out to him and asked what he had under the hood, he said a v-6.
i started laughing my ass off cus he's got his v-6 mustang with a freakin fart can sounding exhaust and gt badges. i told him, "if you wanna sound like a weed eater and think that badges and stickers will make you faster, go buy a civic. if you wanna hang with the big boys you need the v-8 rumble" as i did a burnout takeoff to show him what a muscle car is
supposed to sound like
but back on track, the smaller motors are whats going to keep this car alive. with everyone freaking out about gas prices and whatnot, gm has to do a smaller motor in the base models to keep production high.
funny part about it is, 90% of these people who bitch about gas prices drive big 'ol suv's and while they will complain about spending $3.00 for a GALLON of gas, they wont hesitate to spend $5.00 on a 12 oz cup of mocha capa-frapa-crapachino.
i wish everyone would drive prius' it would save more gas for me
