Don't force the snap ring; it should just click back into place if the slots are lined up correctly. Once secured, turn the cap 1/4 turn back to the passenger side and install the engine cover. It sounds harder than it really is.

no need to remove snap ring. its designed so when you twist it it releases but remains on the cap. im pretty sure that it can only flow what that pump is rated at. so it shouldnt be getting any more flow unless they put a higher gallon per minute pump
