Certain dealerships will have a limited amount of allocations(meaning how many cars that GM will allow them to order per month based on their sales) available. The bigger dealerships will generally have more allocations. It's good to ask around the Dealerships in your area what their allocations they get per month and if they have a waiting list, but these are generally for the ZL1 only, that I've heard of.
Since Texas is Camaro Country, I'm sure you won't find it difficult to find a dealer that will want to earn your business. Good luck in your search and look forward to hearing how you do.
