The Camaro will need to have broader appeal than just to the Camaro faithful and/or Chevy faithful or even muscle car faithful. I for one am glad it's not being titled a "Muscle Car" by GM but instead a performance car.
GM needs their new cars to be a success for more than just a year or two. This means an all around good car for multiple budgets.
While many may not think so I believe the New Camaro if executed properly will go up against a lot more than just the Mustang and Challenger. It will go against the Evo, STI, 128/135i, 370z, RX8, Genesis coupe among others (V-6 and V-8).
It needs to shed the Stereotype of "Mullet Mobile/Machine" (see many posts on jalopnik.com) and be a broadly wanted performance car at the top of its segment.
