Having owned a '12 LT/RS and now a '12 1SS, I can tell you what the problem is. Both of these cars are deceptively fast. Once you get used to the power of the V6, you might not realize just how fast the V8 is.
That's not to say the V6 isn't very quick for what it is...that's a big reason why I bought mine. I was amazed at the amount of power they were able to get out of it. That said, I know I can definitely tell the difference between my V6 and V8.
Even if you can't feel it, if you put them both on the same stretch of road and hit the gas, I guarantee you can SEE the difference.
Both are very nice cars. But everyone has their own requirements for their own taste. For me, power was at the top of the list. The leather, etc. really didn't matter. That's why I went for the 1SS. As someone else said, it doesn't sound like you really care for the extras you get with the SS. If you're not going to use the engine or the Brembo brakes and don't really want to get too crazy now and then, the V6 is perfect. It provides plenty of punch at a great price.
Basically if you:
1. Don't go to the track
2. Need the extra MPG
3. Are on a budget that doesn't alot for an SS
4. Are looking at a non-RS V6 to save on the cost of tires
5. Will be using it primarily for daily duties and never really see open spaces of road
6. Don't feel the V8 sound is worth the entry price
7. Aren't worried about hearing the "Is it a V8?" question thousands of times
8. Aren't out to impress others
9. Aren't going to be making any "spirited takeoffs" when a Mustang GT or Challenger R/T comes along
10. Want the looks primarily and hate buying premium gas
Then the V6 is absolutely perfect.
It is a great car. And it sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for. And, as someone else said, there is NOTHING wrong with that at all.
